Our accomodations and other facilities are more limited during the winter season. As of Tuesday December 11, we have closed registration for this retreat. We are not accepting more people on the waiting list either as of Tuesday December 18.

We hope that you consider finding another time to come for a retreat, and join us for the open Days of Mindfulness, December 23, December 24 (afternoon and evening), and December 31 (afternoon and evening).

Remembering that we have often said "I love you" to our partner, our children and our parents, we now do well to reflect on where that love is coming from.  We remember how we were nourished by our parents' love and realize that they, too, were nourished by the love of their parents---our ancestors.  During this Holiday Retreat, we will reflect on our loving: Are our words deep and true or automatic and superficial?  Have we been so busy taking care of others, that we have not learned how to take time to really love and nourish ourselves?  In this retreat, we will engage our Plum Village Practice of Mindfulness  to learn how to really love ourselves, thus enabling and empowering us to be good, life-giving lovers to our partners, children and parents.

The brothers and sisters here at Deer Park invite you to come practice and celebrate the holidays with us, ending a year and starting another in mindfulness, concentration and insight. People of all ages and levels of experience are welcome.

We will practice sitting meditation, walking meditation, eating meditation, working meditation, listening to Dharma Talks, deep listening and loving speech in Dharma Sharing, Deep Relaxation, all in order for us to come back to ourselves, to nourish and to heal body and mind, in the present moment.

With the calm and nourishment from several days of practice we will be able to reflect on our life and understand how we hope to continue.

We ask everyone to stay for the entire retreat, no partial attendance, in order for the retreat to be a healing and transforming experience for all.  Since this retreat falls within our annual Winter Retreat, the schedule will reflect the spirit of the winter retreat, a time when we commit ourselves to stop and focus deeply on cultivating the practice of mindfulness.

We will offer a children's program (6-12 yrs) during some of the activities and ask for support by parents. If the number of teen is sufficient we will also organize a group for them.

Registration for dorm accommodation has filled up.
