in preparation for the Lunar New Year the Community at Deer Park will come together to make the sticky rice and mung bean cakes wrapped in banana leaves - join us for a community building day

Earth-cake, called: bánh chưng (rectangular) and bánh tét (circular) in Vietnamese, is a tightly packed sticky rice with fragrant mung bean filling wrapped in banana leaves. This cake is symbolically connected with Tết and is essential for any Tết celebration.

We will gather outside of Solidity Kitchen and Dining hall for songs and introduction to the day.
12:30am Lunch
Continue with cake making and cooking in the afternoon
