Contemplative Fellowship Program

With sincere thanks to donors, including the Hemera Foundation, Deer Park Monastery has a limited amount of special funding available to help support those in need of partial financial assistance, in order to attend in-person retreats at the monastery, during the calendar years of 2025 and 2026.

Eligibility Requirements

• Applicants must be 18 years of age or older 
• For in-person retreats taking place at Deer Park Monastery only
• Can be applied only to stay lengths of up to two-weeks (exceptions may be made for those attending the full 3-month Rains Retreat)
• Open to both new and experienced practitioners
• Requests must align with the retreats we are offering as part of either our Seasonal Retreat or Special Retreat schedule

Criteria for Fellowship Funding

• 50% or 75% funding is available. 
• 100% funding – this funding level is very limited.
• Financial support is limited to ONE fellowship per individual per calendar year.
• Funding is not guaranteed at any of the levels mentioned above.
• Applicants must apply individually for their own fellowship. No one can apply on behalf of someone else or a group.
• Funding support is for retreat fees only. Not supported by funding: travel expenses to and from the monastery; fees for continuing education credits; or any other expenses outside of the retreat fees. 

How To Apply

• Submit your application at least 30 days prior to the retreat. We ask for your patience while your application is processed. You will be notified of your status within 10 days of submitting your application.
• If your request is granted, we will contact you with further registration details and collect any fees.
