In this Dharma talk given on November 2, 2025, during a Spanish Day of Mindfulness at Deer Park Monastery, the monastics begin with songs based on Thầy’s poetry, including reflections on walking meditation, impermanence, and emptiness. He then shares recent inspiration from the growing Bogotá Sangha and reflects on the rediscovery of contemplative roots in the spiritual traditions of the Americas. Centering the talk around Thầy’s calligraphy “I am here for you,” he explores the practice of the Plum Village mantras as concrete expressions of presence, interbeing, compassion, and reconciliation. The talk also touches on monastic life during the Rains Retreat, the challenge of distraction in the digital age, and practical ways to cultivate mindfulness and true presence in daily life. It closes with a collective invitation to walk with our ancestors in awareness during a Day of the Dead ceremony, honoring continuation, love, and the support of the Sangha.
