Join Our Happy Farm Community
We are delighted to share that our first Happy Farm event, “Nourish the Soil,” was a tremendous success! With over 60 participants, we came together as a community to clear brush, protect native species and habitat, and add compost to the soil. The day was filled with mindful work, joyful connection, and a beautiful community meal.
Because of the positive energy of this event, we continued with smaller gatherings on the following weekends. We see the practice of working together in mindfulness while tending to Mother Earth has proven to be deeply nourishing for all who participate.
On Saturday, March 22, with volunteer support, we successfully installed our solar well pump, and for the first time had abundant clear, clean water flowing on the farm. This was a deep celebration for all as we know that water is crucial for sustaining life on the farm.
We are anticipating that we will be able to plant our first seedlings in the first week of April and we are working hard to ensure that we have good conditions (fencing, bird boxes, irrigation lines) to protect and nourish these first seedlings.
Continuing Our Community Work Days
We are excited to announce that we will continue to hold open community work days at the Happy Farm on Saturdays through April.
We particularly need help on March 29th as we prepare for planting in the first week of April.

About the Happy Farm
The Happy Farm at Deer Park Monastery is a living expression of our love and respect for Mother Earth. Rooted in the principles of agroecology, it integrates regenerative and organic farming within our mindfulness practice community.
The farm is nurtured by three essential elements: mindfulness practice, organic farming, and community living. It serves as a living classroom where monastics, retreatants, neighbors, and volunteers can cultivate not only nourishing vegetables but also mindfulness, joy, and a sense of interconnectedness with the Earth.
Our vision is to cultivate a space where mindfulness intersects with agriculture, nourishing the well-being of individuals, society, and the planet.
