Community Work Morning

May 26, 2023 @ 8:30 am 1:00 pm PDT

Please join us as we come together as a community to offer our love and care to the land of Deer Park. This community work morning is a chance for us to experience mindfulness practice, siblinghood, and connection to nature in the atmosphere of joyful service. There will also be a FREE and DELICIOUS vegan lunch provided by the monastery! Please RSVP below if you plan to attend.

We will continue our ongoing work on the road. Our dear friend and neighbor, Joe, came with his Bobcat and graded sections of the road at the beginning of the month. Now while the soil is still soft and supple, we will dig a trench along the side of the road to direct the flow of water when the rains come next year.

We would like to invite our friends of all ages and capacities to come. There will be heavy work digging, but there will also be raking and pruning and a group working in one of the monastery gardens. Nevertheless, we suggest all participants wear closed-toe shoes and kindly request  that participants follow our dress code by wearing pants that cover the knees and sleeves that cover the shoulders. A water bottle and sunhat are also recommended.

Please plan to arrive by 8:30 AM. We will gather in front of the Solidity Hamlet dining hall at 9:00 AM. We will have a break with snacks mid-morning followed by lunch at 12:30 PM, after which we will conclude our time together. We look forward to seeing you there!
