Asian Institute of Applied Buddhism

In 2011, Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh’s vision for an Applied Buddhism Institute in Asia manifested in the AIAB center. Here, friends can study and practice Buddhist mindfulness teachings that help us touch the peace and joy within, dwell in the present moment, and transform suffering. A resident monastic Sangha offers teachings and leads the practices.
The center offers retreats for young people and for professionals working in education, social work, health care, business, and other fields, to help them rest, release tensions in body and mind, deal with stress, and reconcile difficulties in personal and professional relationships. Other events include Days of Mindfulness, “downtown” events, and longer retreats on the island and elsewhere.
