Day of Mindfulness

Join us for this day of practice. We will participate in walking meditation, enjoy listening to a panel of monastics share about their recent trip to Vietnam, and formally recite the Five Mindfulness Trainings. Advance registration requested. There will also be a children’s program offered during the panel sharing time.

This event is In-Person and requires advance registration. As these events do tend to fill up, we encourage folks to register as soon as possible once registration opens.

Important Information

Please register by 8 AM on the day of the event. If you need to cancel, please reply to the email you will receive after you register or use our contact page to email us and let us know as soon as possible, so that other folks have the chance to attend.

We do not have a waiting list to join once registration is full. In the event we receive cancellations, space will open up below in the RSVP section for folks to register

We ask that all guests please observe our dress code: out of respect for our monastic brothers and sisters, please wear sleeves that cover the shoulders (short sleeves are acceptable), shirts that cover the midriff, and long pants or long skirts that are loose-fitting and cover the knees at all times. Please do not wear shorts, tank tops, nor tight-fitting clothing. We kindly ask friends to dress modestly for the duration of their time with us and to share this information with anyone attending the event with you. 

There is no cost incurred for participation in the Day of Mindfulness, but a donation is greatly appreciated to keep the monastery open and able to receive guests. You will find donation boxes in the meditation and dining halls or you can donate online.

Schedule

8:00 AM – 10:00 AM – Gate open to receive registered visitors

9:00 AM – Walking Meditation

10:15 AM – Panel Sharing from monastics about trip to Vietnam

11:30 AM – Ceremony to recite the Five Mindfulness Trainings

12:30 PM – Vegetarian Lunch provided for all

2:00 PM – Day of Mindfulness concludes
