The Day of Mindfulness starts with a walking meditation gathering at 9 AM. As you arrive to our main parking lot, please enjoy your steps up the paved road. Our Day of Mindfulness can begin as we make our first step in Deer Park, allowing our body to relax, bringing our attention to our feet, letting go of anxiety and stress. Our gathering location will be on your right as you walk up the main road, nestled in under the oaks and pepper trees, close to the campground shower block (see map).
If it is your FIRST TIME to a Day of Mindfulness with us, monastic Dharma Teachers will offer you an introduction to our practice, after the walking meditation, in the same area.

There is no registration for the Day of Mindfulness; you just show up. There is no cost incurred for participation in the day, but dana (donation) is greatly appreciated. There are donation boxes in the meditation and dining halls. The monastery provides lunch.
We ask that all guests please wear modest clothing including shirts that cover the shoulders, back, and midsection. We also ask that all guests please wear pants or long skirts that cover the knees even while sitting in a meditative posture.
Scheduled Days of Mindfulness occur rain or shine.
