Tết! It’s New Year’s Eve for the year of the Cat. For our evening of mindfulness, we will have Year-End Dharma Talk (Bình Thơ Cuối Năm) by Sister Uyển Nghiêm, a be-in (performances), and the lunar new year ceremony. Please join us.
This event is In-Person and requires advance registration and an account on our website.
Please register by 8 AM on the day of the event. If you need to cancel, please login again on this page and indicate you are not attending.
We ask that all guests please observe our dress code: out of respect for our monastic brothers and sisters, please wear sleeves that cover the shoulders (short sleeves are acceptable), shirts that cover the midriff, and long pants or long skirts that are loose-fitting and cover the knees at all times. Please do not wear shorts, tank tops, nor tight-fitting clothing. We kindly ask friends to dress modestly for the duration of their time with us and to share this information with anyone attending the event with you.
There is no cost incurred for participation in the Day of Mindfulness, but a donation is greatly appreciated to keep the monastery open and able to receive guests. You will find donation boxes in the meditation and dining halls or you can donate online.
Scheduled events occur rain or shine.

Can we bring children there? (one is 9 years old and the other is 10 years old)
Yes. Children are welcome. But please know part of the event is a ceremony so if necessary the children may want to step out. But they can also stay.
Hello, I’m trying to register, but I do not see a link on the bottom of this page.
It was just posted.
Thank you! We’re truly looking forward to it 🙂
Thank you for answering!
I am trying to register, where do I go?
It’s at the bottom of the event page; it was just posted.
I am wondering if any of your dorm rooms will be open for staying over Saturday night?
Please contact our registration office about these questions. Email office@deerparkmonastery.org
Thank you!
Hello, the event is currently full. Do you know if more spots will open up? Thanks
We usually have spots open up on Thursday or Friday before the event.
Will this available on-line as well? I was hoping I could go, but it looks like it’s filled up.
At this time we have the Dharma talk scheduled to be online, but not the evening activities. This may change, but that’s the current status.
Actually you will want to join on Zoom so you have translation: https://plumvillage.zoom.us/meeting/register/tJwtdu2qrDsiG9bTR8a9ucmvoMNT6pjNohvk
Hello, I am wondering who can participate in the Be In? Thank you. 🙂
If you come with something prepared, please let the facilitators know and they may try to fit you into the program.

If I have to leave after the Dharma talk to go to a prior engagement, would I be able to leave through the gate and come back for the evening events?
The gate is always available for exits.
My apologies! I cannot attend in person.
Thank you for letting us know.
Can you please elaborate on the Be In segment of this evening’s event?
This is time of performance. Music, poetry, theatre, etc.
Dear Brother Joy
I won’t be able to attend this evening’s celebration.
Thank you
Thanks l for letting us know. Debbie.
Dear Brother Joy, I apologize we are unable to come this evening. I did not see a way to cancel. There would be 4 more spots available with our family not attending. We hope you all have a wonderful New Year celebration.
Doing this or replying to the confirmation email both work. I hope you enjoy the evening.
Hi, I missed the RSVP for today. May I still come? Thank you, Tamara
Yes. Please join us.
