Update

Dear Friends,

We hope that you are well and are enjoying this Holiday Season. We apologize for not updating you sooner but for this Winter Retreat from December to February we will not offer a Children’s Program for our Sunday Day of Mindfulness (DOM). We will resume offering Children’s Program on our 1st Sunday of each month after the Winter Retreat and will post the dates for the 2018 year sometime in late March or early April.

Thank you for your understanding and support.

Happy Holidays!

The Children’s Program Team

Dear Parents and Children,

On the 1st and 3rd Sunday of each month, after walking meditation, the community listens to a dharma talk followed by either the 5 or 14 Mindfulness Trainings Recitation. On these days, we offer a children’s program for children aged 6-12 so that parents may fully participate in the activities. However, if these Sundays coincide with holidays such as the Lunar New Year or with our 5-day retreats, then we will not have a children’s program on those Sundays. Although there are no fees, we would like to ask you to preregister to ensure that we have a better ratio between the adults and children in the program.

In order to help us better prepare, please complete this form so we know you are coming:

If you have more than two children, please submit an additional form.

As it is often hot here, please bring a water bottle and a hat. Please meet outside the big meditation hall near the announcement board marked with a yellow star at 10:15 a.m. Please reunite with your children in the Solidity Hamlet dining hall for lunch at 12:30 p.m.

Please note: If you have infants or toddlers, we have a toddler’s room where you can use (public area for shared use, next to the tea room). As for exceptions, your 5 year old may join only if a parent or guardian is present the entire time.

We hope to see you soon!

This is the best! For the children and us adults who get to experience our joint joy!
I highly recommend it for the younger members of your family and others who love children like myself.

I would like to invite a 9 year old boy for a day of mindfulness with other children on 1/7/18. If not on this day, do you know when the 1st day of mindfulness children’s program will begin?

Hi Kimi. While children are welcome to attend our day of Mindfulness, we are not offering a program for children until March or April. Please stay tuned.

  6. Good morning! I saw that the children’s program will begin again for 2018 in March or April. We are planning to attend the day of mindfulness tomorrow, April 29th, 2018. Is there any information if there will be a children’s program that day? Thank you so much!
