DonateBrad Wiscons is a loving Dharma Teacher with a big sense of fun and humor. He spent most of his professional career as a service provider and administrator in programs that addressed domestic violence, child abuse, and cultural diversity and equity. He is very invested in practicing with anyone interested in building authentic, deeply spiritual, and compassionate communities that heal the world through laughter, deep practice, and social engagement.
Brad received the transmission of the lamp in March of 2025. Brad is one of the founding stewards of Palomitas de Paz Sangha in Vista, CA. After over 20 years of living and practicing in San Diego County, Brad and his partner Brenda Balmer are soon to be undertaking a new adventure of establishing a lay Engaged Buddhist retreat center in the woods of Northern Minnesota! Please join us as we develop our vision known as "Dandelion Acres." Brad and Brenda are offering practice, talks, and retreats both on-line and in-person. Should you be interested in learning more about his practice and new adventures, please visit http://socalawake.com/ or email Brad at bjwiscons@gmail.com.

From time to time we offer multi-week courses related to mindfulness, the teachings and life of Thich Nhat Hanh, and a variety of similar subjects. Please see our schedule of upcoming courses.

Take the Deer Park Monastery and Plum Village community with you wherever you go. The Plum Village app is designed to cultivate mindfulness, compassion, and joy through guided meditations, deep relaxations, practice poems, bells of mindfulness, and other practices — all through a mobile device.
