Brother Nhất Thiên

Nhat Thien

A monastic in the Plum Village tradition, originally from the United States. Born in 1987, he received the novice precepts on September 24, 2023, at the age of 36, with the Dharma name Compassionate Giving of the Heart and the Dharma title Chân Nhất Thiên. He belongs to the Cây Toyon (Toyon Tree) ordination family and is the 31st disciple of the third generation of Plum Village monastics.

He is the 44th generation in the Lâm Tế (Linji) Zen lineage and the 10th generation of the Liễu Quán Dharma branch.
