Sister Đắc Nghiêm

A Dharma teacher in the Plum Village tradition, of Vietnamese origin and American nationality, born in 1949. She entered monastic training in 2003 at the age of 54 and received the novice precepts on December 13, 2003, at Từ Nghiêm Temple – Plum Village, with the Dharma name Tâm Cao and the Dharma title Chân Đắc Nghiêm. She belongs to the Cây Quế (Cinnamon Tree) ordination family.

Lamp Transmission
She was transmitted the lamp in 2011, during the Lắng Nghe (Deep Listening) Great Ordination Ceremony at Mai Thôn Dharma Center, receiving the transmission gatha:
"The realized flower blossoms with elegance,
The ancient vow remains firm and steadfast.
Cool breeze and clear moon still present,
Each peaceful step builds the Western Land."

She is the mother of Thầy Pháp Uyển and the 197th disciple of Thầy in the Plum Village lineage, the 43rd generation in the Lâm Tế (Linji) Zen tradition, and the 9th generation of the Liễu Quán Dharma branch.
