A Dharma teacher in the Plum Village tradition, originally from Vietnam, Sister Than Nghiem (Sr. True Spirit) entered monastic training in 2001 at the age of 24 and received the novice precepts on February 7, 2002, at Từ Nghiêm Temple – Plum Village, with the Dharma name Tâm Diệu Nghiêm and the Dharma title Chân Thần Nghiêm. She belongs to the Cây Thốt Nốt (Sugar Palm Tree) ordination family.

She is the 141st disciple of Thầy in the Plum Village lineage. She belongs to the 43rd generation in the Lâm Tế (Linji) Zen tradition and the 9th generation of the Liễu Quán Dharma branch.

Grace of the plum, spirit like snow,
Serenity adorns the Buddha realm,
The Dharma body peacefully shines.
Spring dons her robe of fresh delight,
Rose-colored clouds illuminate the Brahma sky.
