Three Roots of Practice | Brother Mãn Tuệ
On October 12, 2025, in the Ocean of Peace Meditation Hall at Deer Park Monastery, the Sangha gathered to honor Thầy Giác Thanh, the first abbot of Deer Park. In a tender, grounded sharing, Brother Man Tue describes offering tea at the stupa, touching the presence of our teacher and ancestors, and inviting us to cultivate deep gratitude. Drawing on lived practice—listening to the bell, mindful walking, and sharing community life—the talk illuminates three roots that help us stand firm in all weather: Faith (Tín) in the Three Jewels, Vow (Nguyện) as our steady aspiration, and Action (Hạnh) as daily, joyful practice. With stories of Yen Tử Mountain, the harmony of monastics and lay friends, and the upcoming ordination of new aspirants, the teaching reminds us that we are not alone: taking refuge in the Sangha, we continue Thầy’s way with love, understanding, and perseverance.
