Each year we offer a variety of events and retreats during which we welcome visitors to come together in the great hidden mountain of Deer Park.

Visit Deer Park

We welcome visitors for Days of Mindfulness and Special Retreats, as well as one or two week General Practice Retreats. All events and retreats require advance registration.

Day of mindfulness
A Day of Mindfulness

Enjoy a day of mindfulness and peace at Deer Park. On most Sundays we host an in-person day for adults and families, including kids, from 9AM - 2PM. Space is limited and these events do fill up. Advance registration is required.

Special Retreats

We host a variety of Special Retreats at Deer Park and beyond, including the Family Retreat, Wake Up Retreat (ages 18-35), The Buddha the Scientist Retreat & Symposium, BIPOC Retreat, Holiday Retreat, and more. See our Events Calendar for upcoming Special Retreats.

General Practice Retreats

Enjoy the daily schedule of the monastery and the basic practices such as sitting meditation, walking meditation, and mindful eating. During the retreat period, you spend each day following the schedule of the resident monastics and lay community.

90-Day Rains Retreat

Taking place from late October to late January, this sacred period — deeply rooted in an ancient practice tradition which dates back to the time of the Buddha — offers an opportunity to dwell peacefully at Deer Park Monastery while nurturing your mind and spirit.

Teen Camp

At this annual summer event, teens practice as a family with our monastic and lay residents, learning to be truly alive and empowering the people around them to do the same. They learn skills to help them embrace and transform strong feelings of fear, anger, and despair, and to be happy, healthy, and free.

Volunteer

Before, during, and after some Special Retreats, we need additional help, so we invite mindfulness practitioners who have already attended a 7-day retreat (or longer) at Deer Park to apply for the volunteer program on an as-needed basis.
