DonateYou are warmly invited to Rhythm of the Earth, the Third Annual Mindful Music Festival at Deer Park Monastery—a joyful day where music, mindfulness, and nature come together in harmony. Founded by Thich Nhat Hanh, Deer Park will host this special gathering on May 9 from 1:00–9:30 PM across its beautiful 400-acre landscape in Escondido.
This in-person festival is an invitation to slow down, breathe deeply, and reconnect—with the rhythms of the Earth, with one another, and with the simple joy of being alive. Expect soulful music, calming rhythms, mindful activities, and a welcoming community rooted in peace and positive energy. Bring your friends, your smile, and your open heart for a day of good tunes, mindful presence, and celebration in nature—all in support of the Thich Nhat Hanh School of Interbeing, a new K-5 school dedicated to integrating mindfulness, emotional intelligence, and academic excellence for the next generation.

– Sue M, Festival Attendee & Volunteer“The bands were fun and talented; there were monastic jams, whimsical children’s songs, wholesome rap, and drumming. I danced and sang along with the crowd. But I carried away so much more than a good time, something deeper and unexpected. I carried away a hope for the future of the earth, for our children and grandchildren.”

From time to time we offer multi-week courses related to mindfulness, the teachings and life of Thich Nhat Hanh, and a variety of similar subjects. Please see our schedule of upcoming courses.

Take the Deer Park Monastery and Plum Village community with you wherever you go. The Plum Village app is designed to cultivate mindfulness, compassion, and joy through guided meditations, deep relaxations, practice poems, bells of mindfulness, and other practices — all through a mobile device.
